I think she's hiding down the side of the bed, but no shadows are shown because the blanket is covering it. When he gets up to change the clock, she sneaks in the bed under the blanket, then when he throws the blanket, she comes out and he hides under the cloth. You see his arm move under the sheet. So he's on the side of the bed. Clever, took a lot of practice I bet, to get it that fast. :P Good trick.
